ABSTRAK

Keywords: Supervision of Principal Academic, Teacher Performance of Islamic Education, Academic Supervision Implementation. Academic supervision principal is one of important program which must be implemented by school principals to improving the performeance of teachers. Improved performance of teachers is a must for educational institutions who wish to survive all time, because teachers in educational institutions is the key to the success of the learning process. This study aims to understand and analyze: (1) Implementation of principal academic supervision in improving teacher performance of Islamic Education, and (2) Constraints faced in the implementation of principal academic supervision in improving teacher performance of Islamic Religious Education in SMP Muhammadiyah, SMP IT Babussalam, and SMP IT Al-Amin Kuala Kapuas. This research uses qualitative approach of field research type. Methods of data collection are observation, interview and documentation. Data analysis techniques using interactive analysis model Miles and Huberman which includes four components of data collection, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. Checking the validity of the data using triangulation technique, the technique of checking the validity of data that utilize something else in comparing the results of interviews on the object of research. The findings of the research indicate that: (1) Implementation of principal academic supervision in improving teacher performance of Islamic Religious Education at SMP Muhammadiyah, SMP IT Babussalam, and SMP IT Al-Amin Kuala Kapuas is the implementation run well and in accordance with the guidance of academic supervision instrument, but The results are different, both at the planning, implementation, and follow-up stages, as the implementation of different stages is carried out at each school. (2) Constraints faced by the implementation of principal academic supervision in improving the performance of teachers of Islamic Education at SMP Muhammadiyah, SMP IT Babussalam, and SMP IT Al-Amin Kuala Kapuas is the time, readiness of teachers, and limitations of infrastructure and limitations in the mastery Science and technology.
