ABSTRAK

Muhrian Noor: Principal leadership in developing the religious culture in the school environment. (A case study in SMP Negeri 4 Martapura Banjar South Kalimantan), Advisors by Prof. Dr. H. Kamrani Buseri, MA. And Dr. Hj. Salamah, M.Pd. Thesis in graduate program of IAIN Antasari Banjarmasin, 2017. The low morality among some students in school caused of the lack of Islamic education, the influence of modernization and negative social environment, resulting in the deviation from the norms of religion as involved drug abusers and the like, promiscuity between men and women are pushed to do adultery, and so forth. It is a challenge for public schools in shaping students to religion and morality, therefore, principals as leaders of educational institutions should endeavor planting religious values through the development of religious culture in the school environment, in this case the principals of SMP Negeri 4 Martapura has undertaken these efforts with effective and efficient, to determine the success principals in leading the institution needs to be done in-depth research that is the principal leadership in developing a culture of Religion in the school environment. This research was conducted using qualitative approach with case studies. Data collection research used interview, observation and documentation. And after all the data is analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and draw conclusions (verification), as well as checking the validity of the data with data triangulation technique and technique trigulasi data sources. The research result showed that: (1) The leadership principals in developing the religion culture in school environment is are (a) the religion culture developed on the basis of results of opinion and the views of citizens are taken as a policy of the school principal, in this case called the persuasive strategies, (b) the application of religion culture in the school environment can be done well, the principal always held a meeting with the entire school community to discuss things or steps that do succed in that culture, (c) the leadership approach adopted is situational leadership, and (d) the implementation of activities related to thedevelopment of religious culture, the principal always use management functions on any policies, are planning, organizing, actuating, controlling, and evaluating. (2) the forms of religious culture depeloped there are three categories, (a) cultural form of divine worship, among others; before doing the teaching and learning activities, students first read istigfar and prayer in congregation activities, especially at zuhur time laid out in a way turns, as many as six classes each day and guided, governed, directed by the teacher mentors is responsible for the class, great day warning practices Islam not only be done with the form of lectures alone but by doing certain activities to apply it in everyday life, such as race Maulid week or Rajabiah week, activities devoted on Friday with Istigfar reading, prayer, verse chair three times, read al waqi’a an closing prayers, this is called Taqwa Friday. (b) social cultural forms of warship, among others; leaners are required to carry out the activities Silaturrahmi Morning when about to enter the gate of the school an the teachers were in front of the school gate, khataman Al Qur’an implemented towards the end of each school year, the subjects are taught in the classroom are interated with religious values in accordance with the competency of individual teachers ang extracurricular activies such as reading Maulid Habsyi and the art of reading al Qur’an, (c) living cultural environment Forms of Worship; learners perform daily hygiene on a scheduled basis according plots each class and even specially Day of Friday no events called clean Friday, and attempts to instill religious values in terms of environmental protection, learners are required to continuously maintain plants in the school environment, (3) the support of the school community have done well by demonstrating the commitment of each member on school community. Besides, the visible support of some other point of view is the attitude and actions of all member on school community.
