ABSTRAK

The problem formulations of this research are: how well is the students’ reading comprehension achievement of control class and experimental class at seventh grade students of Junior High School 23 Banjarmasin academic year 2014/2015? Is there significance different between experimental class (is taught with pre-questioning) and control class (is taught without pre-questioning) at seventh grade students of Junior High School 23 Banjarmasin academic year 2014/2015? The subjects in this study are all the students form VIIF (Experimental class : 36 students) and VIIC (Control class : 33 students) of Junior High School 23 Banjarmasin academic year 2014/2015. While the objectof this research are the effect of using pre-questioning on reading comprehension achievement on seventh grade students at Junior High School 23 Banjarmasin academic year 2014/2015.. To collect the data, the writer uses some techniques such as, test (written test), observation, and documentary. Data processing in this study is divided into three phases: editing, coding, and tabulating. Then, all the data are analyzed descriptively, quantitatively and concluded inductively. The result of this research states that the experimental class students’ reading comprehension achievement is better than the students’ reading comprehension achievement from control class. It can be seen from the result of ‘t test’.t table (5% = 2.00) < t test (2.72) > t table (1% = 2.65). It shows that t test is higher than t table 5% and 1%. Ho (Zero Hypothesis) is rejected and HA (Alternative Hypothesis) is accepted. By the result, the writer concludes that Ha is accepted. There is a significant difference in reading comprehension achievement of control class and experimental class of seventh grade students at Junior High School 23 Banjarmasin.
